The opposition Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) has disclosed plans to conduct a nationwide mobilization campaign for the Lango sub-region on September 8.

Sharon Oyat Arach, the UPC Spokesperson says the campaign shall be in Apac and Kwania districts in Northern Uganda as part of the party activities ahead of 2025/2026 general elections.

Arach says that these activities will involve internal arrangements which include organization, sensitization, and mobilization, recruitment of members into the party and identification of potential candidates who shall carry the UPC flag in the forthcoming general elections.

She has disclosed that UPC being a law abiding party has already informed the police about these activities and they don’t expect any interruption.

UPC president also Lira City East Division Member of Parliament Jimmy Akena is expected to grace the activities and now Arach calls upon party members to embrace the activities to strengthen the party support.

Recently, the national Electoral Commission released the roadmap leading to the 2026 General Elections with focus on early preparations and adequate funding for all activities.
