The Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) has promised to work with schools to help them recover fees defaulted by candidates even after the examinations.

Dan Odongo, the Executive Director of UNEB while addressing journalists at the media center on Thursday said that this has been done to stop scenarios where heads of schools inconvenience candidates or pull them out of examination rooms on account of outstanding school fee balances.

This comes after School heads under their umbrella organization, the National Private Education Institutions’ Association -NPEIA have urged parents and guardians with learners in candidate classes to clear their outstanding school fees balances to avoid withholding results when they are released next year.

Odongo has also warned candidates against indiscipline during this period of UNEB examination noting that being candidates doesn’t mean they are above the school regulations.

He has advised head teachers to take all names and details of candidates with school fees balance at UNEB offices before results come back.

This comes a few days to the start of the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations.

Senior Four candidates will be briefed on Friday this week before sitting for their first paper on Monday next week.
