The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has re-echoed its appeal to school owners to leave pupils and students to sit their primary leaving examinations and the Uganda Advanced Certificate for Education peacefully.

This has been made by the executive director of UNEB Dan Odongo at the Uganda media centre saying that they will engage all head teachers through their portal to submit a list of all students using their index numbers who haven’t paid off their fees such that their exams are not released until they have nil balance.

He warned schools and students against examination malpractice since it leads to cancellation of results.

Odongo disclosed this as P7 candidates were undergoing briefing ahead of their exams tomorrow 8th and 9th November 2023.

A total of 749347 candidates are to sit their exams of which 391,558 are female and 357,789 are male and they will be sitting from 14442 centers.

On these 79 candidates are from prisons that include 13 females and 66 males.

Meanwhile, the UACE candidates are to sit their exams starting Friday with the briefing and writing of exams from 13th November to 1st December 2023.

A total of 110,569 candidates were registered and these include 47,227 females and 631,342 are males and will sit from 2,103 centres.

Odongo cautioned them against destroying school properties since it affects their guardians and the school at large.
