Uganda journalist Association (UJA) has instituted an eight member committee to investigate the fracas that left two journalists injured at Salt Media’s headquarters in Lungujja.

 

Godfrey Katongole of Bukedde TV and Siraje Kiberu of Record TV were allegedly battered by the fellow journalists from Salt TV for providing coverage to activities against Pastor Aloysious Bujjingo’s utterances that demined women through his wife Teddy Naluswa.

 

Addressing the media at their offices in Kibuye, UJA president Bashir Kazibwe Mbaziira said the select committee will be chaired by the association’s Vice President Buganda Region, Muhammad Ssendegeya and will allow objective expression of all parties to find a solution amongst journalists within two weeks.

 

Kazibwe further noted that they are to summon three journalists from Salt Media who are appeared in the video clip beating their fellow and these will have to appear before the committee for interrogations includes Charles James Ssenkubuge, Eric Ssebalamu and Robert Mutebi.

He warns that the victims will also be summoned to provide their side of the story and letter decide the way forward after the report by ensuring that justice is prevailed.

 

Failure to appear before the committee for the two weeks investigations will warrant taking matters to courts of law.
