Uganda has capacity to host AFCON – Minister

The Minister for ICT and National Guidance, Dr Chris Baryomunsi has laughed at all Ugandans who think that Uganda lacks capacity to host the Africa cup of Nations 2027.

Recently, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) awarded Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania the hosting rights for the 2027 Africa cup of Nations.

While speaking to the press at the Uganda Media Center, Baryomunsi noted that despite political differences Ugandans should be happy that the country was awarded rights to host such games and there is nothing to worry about since everything will be dealt with in the shortest time possible.

He also wondered why Mabirizi engaged in such stuff which is not developmental hence saying that he is just idle.

The controversial city lawyer Male Mabirizi expressed his unhappiness with the decision taken by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to have Uganda as one of the hosts of the 2027 African Cup of Nations.

Mabirizi wrote to CAF requesting to have the decision revisited and reversed on grounds that Uganda lacks democratic leadership, denies citizens a right to a fair trial, militarizes Kampala streets, lacks freedom of assembly and exists corruption and nepotism.
