The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa has issued guidelines for investigating the mismanagement of the Parish Development Model (PDM).

This was in his communication to the house as it resumed from the recess where Members of Parliament had gone to monitor the performance of government programs in their constituencies like PDM and others.

Tayebwa says he had received numerous complaints both from MPs and beneficiaries where they had been asked for bribes and other illegalities before receiving the PDM money.

It’s from this that Tayebwa directed MPs under their regional caucus to compile their findings on PDM and submit them to the committee of parliament on Local government for more investigations after which a report will be submitted to parliament for action to be taken.

The committee has been given three weeks to conclude the investigations.

Last month, the Speaker of Parliament Anita Among sent MPs to recess asking them to monitor and assess the progress of government programmes such as the PDM and Emyooga.
