Police are hunting for two security guards attached to Saracen Security Company for allegedly conniving with thugs and stole two high value motor vehicles from the United Nations High Commission for Refugees -UNHCR in Arua district.

According to Police, the two suspects allegedly connived with the thugs who broke into Arua based UNHCR offices and stole two high value land cruisers registration numbers UBE 496B and UBK 403M which they exported into North Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo- DRC.

Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson says that the thieves assisted by the two security guards, vandalized the CCTV cameras and removed the footages which they sneaked away with.

However, the stolen motor vehicles were traced and later recovered in the North Eastern DRC under the help of the Congolese police and currently the International Police – Interpol together with UNHCR are in contact with DR Congo government to repatriate them to Uganda according to Enanga.

This is the second time for high value land cruisers being stolen in Western Nile with the first case registered at Arua Regional referral hospital where a ministry of health ambulance was stolen recently.
