Two Asian traders in Lira town who sparked off a riot by the community have been charged with the murder of an 11-year-old pupil in Kole district.
The two suspects identified as Vayas Fravey and Madmay Gaga, both cotton traders with Meenay Cotton Ltd at Odokomit Ginnery in Lira town appeared before Grade One court presided over by Igga Adiru today and pleaded not guilty and were remanded to Soroti Central government prison until December 3rd.
Heavy security deployment was present as the two Indians were brought to the court premises.
Both suspects have been in police custody at Kole Central Police Station since November 9th, 2018. They were arrested following the death of Okello, an 11-year-old pupil of Alito primary school in Kole district under unclear circumstances.
