Two children have perished in the fire outbreak that gutted the house they were in at Lweza Zone B, Kajjansi Town Council in Wakiso district.
Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson identifies the deceased as Rahim Kakooza aged 2 months, son of Everlyn Kisakye and Sarah Nakitende aged 5 years, daughter of Bonny Semogerere, a resident of Kajjansi KKB zone, Kajjansi Town council, Wakiso District.
According to police, it was at around 5pm yesterday that Everlyn Kisakye, 23 years, a resident of the Kajjansi was in the courtyard of the main house with friends conversing, when they saw the house engulfed in fire.
Onyango adds that Kisakye and other people ran to the house to rescue the children, but the fire was so tense and had spread all over the house that they failed to control the situation until the Fire Brigade Police was dispatched after notifying the Kajjansi Police.
He says that the cause of fire has not been established but investigations is on going
