The Government of Uganda has partnered with their Canadian counterpart to promote women entrepreneurs to access the global market for locally produced goods like crafts, home decor and textiles.

Addressing the press at Uganda media centre today, the State Minister of Trade Harriet Ntabazi revealed that the partnership is specifically to build capacity of local women entrepreneurs through exploring the international markets.

Under this partnership, the state Minister flagged off a team of 10 local women entrepreneurs for a trade formalization tour in Canada, USA and New York to learn and create a conducive business environment for SMEs development in all sectors.

The partnership will also link SMEs to regional and international markets through signing bilateral and multilateral trade protocols.
