Two people have been arrested for allegedly stabbing to death a Youth Councilor at Masajja A in Makindye- Ssabagabo, Wakiso district.
The deceased is identified as Allan Kakumba, 25, a resident of Kibira A and a Youth Councilor of Masajja A while the suspects are Eddie Ssemakula and David Abigaba.
It is alleged that the incident happened when Abigaba and Ssemakula started to fight over the Arsenal versus Manchester City match but when Kakumba intervened, only to be stabbed by Ssemakula.
Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson explains that Kakumba got involved into the fight as he attempted to rescue his brother Titus Kyendo from his neighbours Abigaba and Ssemakula who had picked a quarrel that resulted into a fight due to football match between Arsenal and Man City.
He says that after the stabbing, Kakumba was rushed to Mulago Hospital where he passed away on 29th of January 2023 and now the two suspects are detained at Katwe Police station as investigations continue and also the alleged murder weapon of a knife has been recovered and exhibited.
