Traders under their umbrella body Kampala City Traders Association (KACITA) have given parliament one month ultimatum to pass the Landlords and tenants bill 2013 into law or else they are to hold an industrial action.

KACITA Spokesperson Isa Ssekito says they are tired of being over charged when they could not challenge their landlords in these the existing laws.

In 2013, through the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Traders under KACITA proposed a bill before parliament limiting Landlord from over charging rent.

Ssekito adds that parliament has since them failed to pass this bill into a law yet they continue to be affected by the hiked dues.

However, he calls upon traders to start saving money and food that they will use during the days of striking.
