Barely hours to the long awaited city carnival, have police warned pick pocketers and other criminals to desist from any wrongdoing or they will not survive their operations in the three day festivals.

According to police about 300 suspected criminals were held while robbing people that were enjoying the carnival.

Addressing a joint press briefing, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokepserson Emilian Kayima says that they are much ready and vigilant to arrests criminals.

The Kampala Capital City Authority’s (KCCA) Spokesperson Peter Kauju  confirms that all preparations are done for this year’s 6th mega festival beginning with tomorrow’s event that is aimed at raising money for upgrading 79 government schools with new facilities.

Meanwhile; the Kampala Metropolitan Traffic Police Commander Israel Wambesyo says that some roads will be closed and diverted from Saturday to Sunday night at 12am.

The festival is expected to raise KCCA over 1.3billion shillings.
