The Tabliq community the through their General Secretary Ayub Nyendo while leading the prayers at Nakivubo Blue Primary School in Kampala said they have embarked on collecting a million signatures to petition the Chief Justice Bert Katureebe requesting him to order the Court of appeal to expeditiously hear the case in which their former leader Muhammed Yunus Kamoga was handed a life imprisonment sentence.

Previously, Sheik Kamoga petitioned the Court of Appeal seeking to challenge the life imprisonment sentence that was handed to him by the International Crimes Division (ICD) court over terrorism.

He also expressed discontent with parts of the decision taken by Judges Ezekiel Muhanguzi, Jane Kiggundu and Percy Tuhaise yet the offence they based on the ruling is not provided for in the constitution.

During the same prayers, Tabliqs also fundraised to raise school fees for the children of their imprisoned leaders

The former Mufti of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council Sheik Obed Kamulegeya also called for fresh-investigations and hunt for the exact killers of the Muslim clerics since what security personnel alleged to be behind was exonerated of that case .

Kamulegeya faulted the court sentence to the ex- Tabliq leader Sheik Muhammad Yunus Kamoga because terrorism that was brought in is far different from the original charges.

He said this while Delivering his speech at Eid prayers at Nsimbiziwoome Mosque in Bukoto Kampala, Kamulegeya says that such rulings will create  hatred among Muslim sects with each and the government.

However, he calls on Muslims to stop bickering and instead unify in order to develop their religion.
