Government has extended the beneficiary of the students’ loan scheme to students with physical disabilities who want to apply for courses in humanities at the higher institutions of learning for under graduate professional disciplines this academic year.

The period for the registration of applicants has been extended from 4th to August 18th and 31st for degree and diploma entry students since most of the universities and tertiary institutions had delayed admission letters which is required for every student to apply.

While addressing the media at the Uganda Media Center in Kampala, the State Minister for Higher Education John Chrysostom Muyingo noted that those who will get government money must return it with value retention fee of 7% in a period of one year after employment and it’s for only poor students.

Only disabled students pursuing science and technology courses and humanities will benefit from this program and so far over 3000 students have applied to benefit on 23.3 million shillings that has been allocated by government for the financial 2017/2018.
