The hearing of the matter where Kawempe North Member of Parliament- MP Mohammad Ssegirinya is accused of inciting violence has flopped for the fourth time after his lawyer failed to appear in court.

While appearing before Grade One Magistrate Siena Owomugisha, Counsel Kassim Ddamulira who was representing the accused revealed to court that the Counsel in charge; Shamim Malende had instructed him on her behalf to come and seek for an adjournment since she wasn’t well yet.

This wasn’t objected to by the state prosecution led by Ivan Kyazze however, he revealed to court that he had summoned two witnesses who are Police officers but upon hearing that Counsel Malende was sick he instructed them not to come.

The matter has been adjourned to June 30th 2022.

Meanwhile, Grade One Magistrate Asuman Ahumuza has adjourned the matter where 19 suspects are accused of engaging in the detonation of explosives that were experienced in Kampala last year after state prosecution revealed that the investigations are still ongoing.

Prosecution alleges that the accused persons unlawfully manufactured, placed and detonated Improvised Explosive Devices in Kampala Mpigi and Wakiso districts with the intention of causing death or serious bodily injuries and a major economic loss.

They reportedly committed the offence in 2020 and 2021 for purposes of influencing the Government and intimidating the public or a section of the public for political, religious and socio-economic goals without due regard to the safety of others or property.
