Kawempe North Member of Parliament Mohammed Ssegirinya has finally swore in the last group of 131 newly elected members of parliament.

This has closed the four day ceremony that has seen 529 newly elected MPs sworn in.

The ailing MP was supported to the podium to take his oath as the new Kawempe North representative in the 11th Parliament which starts business on Monday 24th, May 2021.

Shortly after taking his Oath Ssegirinya told the press that he is going to make sure that each family in Kawempe gets a taste of his car allowance as part of his give back and promise to the voters who sent him to Parliament.

He revealed that he has a program in Kawempe called ‘SegiBox’ where he gives each and every family Shs. 100,000 every month,” and the best way to do it will be by distributing the money parliament will allocate him for the car to the same project since he will use his only car for the parliamentary work.

Each MP is expected to get at least Shs 200 million to buy a car at the start of their five years term in office.

Ssegirinya also said that he is still suffering from complications that he got from Kitalya Prison which forced his referral to Nairobi over a month ago on realizing that he had got a liver and ear problems.
