At least four people who were participating in the Gisu cultural dance along Nyenga road in Njeru Municipality, Buikwe district have been knocked dead by a speeding motor vehicle at Bukaya Stock farm, according to the police.

 

It’s alleged that a motor vehicle registration number UAG 888H Premio driven by an unknown person rammed into pedestrians who were in Gisu cultural dance from the Nile heading to Nyenga side, killing four and leaving the other four with serious injuries.

 

The Ssezibwa Region Police Spokesperson Hellen Butoto identifies the one of the deceased as Paul Lugaga (23) a resident of Bukaya village in Nyenga with the other three’s particulars not yet established.

 

She further names the two victims as Lillian Nakati (21) and Julius Kalaka saying the other two are not yet to be established but they are all admitted at Jinja Referral Hospital for treatment while the bodies of the deceased have been taken to Jinja Mortuary for postmortem.

 

Butoto says that the motor vehicle has been towered to Njeru Police yard while the driver is on the run.
