The Speaker of Parliament Anita Among has been banned from travelling to the USA and UK.
This had been revealed by Bugiri Municipality MP Asuman Basalirwa who was also the mover of the Anti homosexuality bill while addressing journalists at parliament.
Basalirwa says governments of UK and USA have already written to the Speaker Among notifying her for the cancellation of her visa’s respectively.
He says that the speaker is not scared or worried as long as she is not stopped from going to her constituency of Bukedea or any part of Uganda.
It is highly anticipated that the cause of the ban is due to her work and the entire 11th parliament that debated and passed the Anti-Homosexuality Act – 2023 which President Museveni has assented to.
