The Speaker of Parliament Anita Among has directed the Government Attorney General and Ministers to table before parliament all respective regulations for all Acts passed by parliament.

Speaker Among made the directive in relation to the existing Acts passed without operationalization regulations to make them effective and implemented.

Some of the Acts under this category and those which have been quashed by courts of law include the public management Act, Road safety Act 2019 which up to now hasn’t been implemented due to absence of the regulation.

The speaker also directed the Attorney General to table before parliament all Acts passed by parliament with regulations and those without regulations by tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Speaker Among has also condemned the action by the Ministry of Finance of continuous deduction of road fund money in different financial years.

She noted that since the 2020 financial year, the Ministry of Finance has been reducing the allocation to Road Fund from 489.3bn to 401bn shillings in the current financial year 2023/24.

Among has now tasked the parliamentary committee on Infrastructure to study the cause of all this and table a report to parliament.
