The Uganda National Examinations Board-UNEB has registered a successful commencement of the Uganda Certificate of Education-UEC exams with only one candidate missing today’s papers.
Over 364,000 Senior Four candidates have started writing their UCE examinations from 3,800 centers across the country.
Among these, 118,000 candidates are Government-funded under Universal Secondary Education and 245,000 are privately sponsored.
Jennifer Kalule, the UNEB Spokesperson says the candidate failed to sit for her papers after being hospitalized in Adjumani hospital.
She however says that the examination distributors were able to deliver the papers on time from the 25 distribution routes to all the main stations with Rakai district being the destination where the exams delivery was done latest.
In regards to supervision, Kalule notes that the Board working with different security agencies have deployed over 11,000 security officers, 1,113 scouts and 107,000 invigilators to secure the examination exercise.
