Rwandan Nationals leaving in Uganda have released a list of names alleging to have been arrested, detained in torture chambers and tried in military courts yet they are civilians.

Represented by their lawyers Aaron Kiiza of Kiiza and Mugisha Company Advocates, among the suspects include Rene Rutagingira, Claude Lyakaremye, Emmanuel Rwamucho and Augustine Rutayisire.

Last week, the Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs Rtd, Major General Kahinda Otafiire noted that government is holding no Rwandan national in detention following his fellow Rwandan Foreign Affairs Minister Richard Sezibera’s claims that some of their people were being subjected to harassment and detention by Ugandan authorities.

Kiiza now wants Otafiire to reverse his statements or investigate on the issues further and make sure that the detainees are tried in civil courts.
