Vice Chancellor Makerere University Prof Barnabas Nawangwe has assured the parliamentary Education committee that Makerere is stable with no friction between the management and staff’s.

Nawangwe said that what is happening at Makerere are actions of indiscipline by some staff members and management is handling the cases as required.

He further clarified on media reports that those suspended had not committed any case saying its false sighting that some absconded from duty, others engaged in financial mismanagement, and failure to complete studies yet sponsored by government.

Nawangwe however said that the council has also resolved that any victim under MUASA will be handled by the appointments committee to allow transparency.

Members of MUASA went on strike since 18th last month in protest of suspending their chairperson and other members by Vice chancellor without according them fair -hearing.
