Human Rights Network (HURINET) together with the Coalition of Uganda Private Teachers Association (COUPTA) has condemned the brutal attack on the Winterland Primary School pupils and demanded for the disbandment of Boda Boda 2010.

Addressing a joint media briefing in Ntinda, the HURINET Executive Director Mohammed Ndifuna says that the attack on innocent pupils and their teachers was out of law and the perpetuators should be investigated and arrested.

This week, suspected bodaboda riders under the Bodaboda 2010 led by Abdul Kitatta ganged up and attacked the bus of Winterland Primary Schools at Busega along Northern bypass while heading for police activities in Nkumba and beat up pupils and teachers for wearing red colors that are used for opposing presidential age limit.

Ndifuna says they have aligned a team of lawyers that is to monitor police response against the group and once nothing is done, Bodaboda 2010 is to be dragged to court for assaulting pupils and teachers of Winterland Primary school.

However, the Concern for the Child (CGC) Executive Director Catherine Opondo challenged police and other security agencies for failure to counter attack that militia which on several occasions has been beating up innocent people.
