The Democratic Party (DP) has demanded the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga to meet all medical bills for the legislatures that were injured during the house fracas.

DP Acting Secretary General Dr. Gerald Siranda says the party is ready to sue Kadaga once she doesn’t positively respond to their call in seven days ultimatum from October 6th.

The speaker however is still unapologetic for her orders that saw some of the legislators manhandled by external security. She says the MPs attempted to take over the house and she did what she had to do.

Mityana MP Hon Francis Zaake was one of the most injured and was admitted at Lubaga hospital in bad condition. Mukono Municipality’s Betty Nambooze also complains of severe back pain.

Dr. Siranda also revealed that they are to petition their members of parliament not to receive 20 million shillings ahead of the consultative meetings.

Meanwhile, a group of Pentecostal Christian leaders from across the country have prayed for sanity to return to Parliament following a fracas that left some legislators injured and several others arrested as well as the pressure mounting over the constitutional amendments on the presidential age limit bill.
