Prisons authorities have confirmed at least 19 fraud complaints registered from the victims of conmen disguising as the Commissioner General of Prisons Dr. Johnson Byabashaija.
The complaints are from 19 victims promised jobs of serving as prison wardens and other various duties according to the Uganda Prison Services.
The Prisons Spokesperson Frank Baine says the conmen are using an MTN line which is registered in the names of Sharifa Namaganda to call people asking to send them money in promise of helping them to either get jobs or enrolled into the Uganda Prisons.
Baine however has warned the public to always be vigilant and avoid being victims of such conmen.
Meanwhile, Baine has revealed that they have kicked-off the medical examinations of recently recruited prisons warders and wardresses which are being conducted at 16 recruitment centers across the country.
