Priests have been challenged to be mindful of the way they Evangelise the people to let them stay committed to the Catholic Church.

 

The Catholic Church is one of the traditional faith groups that has seen exodus of its faithful to the latest invented followings with a claim of the need for modern way of preaching the word of God.

 

Rev. Fr. Stephen Onyeba from Tororo Archdiocese emphasizes that the Catholic Church does not teach magic or instant miracles like most people want it today however concentration must be put on helping the faithful understand God that he provides everything at his time and those with strong faith get it.

 

Fr. Onyeba said this in his homily during the thanks giving Eucharistic celebrations to mark 25 years of priesthood for Rev. Fr. Philip Odii at his home place Ogosoi Ward Kabwangasi Town council in Butebo District.

 

Fr. Onyeba says party of Evangelisation to interest Christians stay committed to the Catholic Church is exemplary service and way of living which does not compromise their calling.

 

Fr. Onyeba reminded priests of their two main duties; Evangelisation or teaching the gospel and celebration of Sacraments including charity works given the nature of the African societal needs all this helps the faithful stay committed to the Catholic Church.

 

He thanked Fr. Odii for putting God first that he has been able to reach this far with lots of success in his services including his service as the Executive Secretary for the Social Commission at the Uganda Episcopal Conference an office he has served for 10 years.

 

Fr. Onyeba has advised Christians to always love and pray for priests to stay committed to their calling and God.
