President Museveni congratulates Rt. Rev. Lawrence Mukasa upon becoming 3rd Bishop of Kasana Luwero Diocese

President Yoweri Museveni has congratulated the new Bishop of Kasana Luweero upon taking his responsibility and that government looks upon him to support its efforts to transform Luweero.

In a message read for him by the Vice President Jessica Alupo at Kasana Luweero Museveni said government is always proud of the Catholic Church adding that the efforts at hand are to use government programs like the Parish Development Model PDM to support families fight poverty.

He said the Catholic Church has exploited opportunities in the public private sector partnership to transform communities by establishing schools, hospitals to provide better social services which government commends and pledges total support.

Museveni donated a brand new Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle to the new bishop to facilitate his travels.

In her words the Vice President Jessica Alupo said she was indebted for the generous service of the new bishop of Kasana Luweero diocese citing the time when the northern region was still affected by the LRA insurgency but Bishop Mukasa then a lecturer and spiritual director at Katigondo Major Seminary accepted all the seminarians from Alokolum Major Seminary to complete their studies until the northern region was pacified.
