The new Bishop of Kasana Luweero diocese Rt. Rev. Lawrence Mukasa Lutwama has called for prayers to see that the Anglican Church in Luweero composes and get a new shepherd.

In his maiden address shortly after his Consecration and taking of canonical possession as the 3rd ordinary of Kasana Luweero diocese now Bishop Mukasa says it’s through God who can help in all challenges especially for the people of Luweero to get transformed in all aspects including religious life.

Christians in the Church of Uganda from Luweero diocese are still rocked in a misunderstanding over the nullification of Rev. Canon Godfrey Kasana by the top church leadership after a section of Christians protested his election over unclear family matters.

Bishop Mukasa also appointed Msgr. Francis Xavier Mpanga as the new Vicar general of Kasana Luweero diocese. He had served as the Vicar General before when Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere was still the ordinary of Kasana Luweero. He also announced that the diocese will have ordinations on 19th August.

He extended his thanks to the Pope for having entrusted him with duty of serving the church, his predecessors the late Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga and now Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere for their contribution in Kasana Luweero.

He also thanked the central government for the support to the Catholic Church and all Christians from Kasana Luweero and his home diocese Kiyinda Mityana diocese pledging his commitment to evangelize and work towards the transformation of Luweero.
