Pope Francis—united to all the Bishops and Catholic faithful around the world—will consecrate Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary today Friday March 25th 2022 , the feast of the Annunciation.

The Act of Consecration will be prayed during the “24 Hours for the Lord” Lenten penitential service in St. Peter’s Basilica, which begins at 5 PM Rome time.

The Pope will pray the Act of Consecration around 6:30 PM, and has asked all Bishops and priests around the world to join him spiritually in this prayer.

In his letter, the Pope lamented the “immense suffering” the war in Ukraine is inflicting upon its “sorely tried people” and which is “threatening world peace.”

In Kampala Archdiocese the mass will start this evening at 7pm led by the Pope Nuncio Archbishop Luigi Bianco. Christians have been called for the prayers and in all churches Catholics have been urged to converge with parish priests to recite the prayer given to pray for Ukraine.
