Police has tasked Presidential Aspirants who were cleared by the Electoral Commission to conduct their meetings a head of the 2021 general elections, to notify them before starting their meetings to avoid clashes.

So far the Electoral Commission has cleared six presidential aspirants to conduct consultative meetings in coordination with the police for proper safety of the public

While addressing a news conference at police headquarters Naguru, Fred Enanga the police spokesperson noted that they are monitoring the consultative meetings of the presidential aspirants because some of them have failed to abide by the rules and regulations.

On the alleged torture of the four time presidential aspirant Dr. Kizza Besigye of the opposition FDC in Nalufenye last week following his re-arrest from Jinja Town, Enanga tasked Besigye to prove it in public because immediately he was arrested Police drove him back to his home in Kasangati.

Meanwhile, Enanga has however disclosed that a police officer who was captured on video brutalizing an FDC supporter in Gulu was arrested and is waiting to face the law.
