Iran-Uganda hospital in Naguru has been directed by the Uganda Police Force to close its operations due to the violation of the Memorandum of understanding-MoU between the police and the operators of the hospital.

 

Initially, Iran-Uganda hospital according to the MOU with the police force provide subsidized medical treatment to police officers and in return, the police provided land on which the hospital is sitting, free electricity, water, fueling the hospital generator, and an ambulance.

 

However, all these clauses in the MoU were not fulfilled by the Iran-Uganda hospital instead the hospital continued charging the police officers like any other private hospital in the country which caught the  IGPs attention thus directing for suspension of the Iran-Uganda hospital.

 

Appearing before the parliamentary select committee investigating the wrangles on all Uganda Police Force lands chaired by Donozio Kahunda, the director of legal UPF Erasmus Twaruhukwa said that apparently the IGP Martine Ochola directed a forensic audit into the hospital operations and suspend the continuity of the MoU.
