Police have informed the officers managing the security installations and Very Important Persons (VIPs) in the country to be on high alert against anticipated terrorism acts in the country.

This follows a statement recently released by the UPDF that identified four Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) terrorists who entered the country under the command of Ahmed Muhammad Hassan a.k.a Abu Waqas who is a Tanzanian born bomb expert.

The other suspected ADF terrorists who entered the country include; Muhammad Isa, Muhammad Lumisa and Nasser Hamid Diiru.

Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson while addressing a weekly news conference today at Naguru noted that there is need for vigilance among the security personnel guarding Government installations and facilities especially police stations as well as VIPs mostly politicians.

Enanga also says that people who are living in isolated areas and places like restaurants also need to be more cautious and vigilant over their security.

He says they continue to work with other sister security agencies especially the UPDF and Intelligence teams like the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) to monitor the security situation at the border points of DR Congo.

The UPDF Spokesperson Colonel Deo Akiiki indicated that the government of Uganda is planning to deploy Local Defense Unit (LDU) personnel against ADF in the DRC.
