The Makindye Chief Magistrate’s court has granted bail to four police officers attached to Kabalagala Police Station who were arrested on Monday January 22nd 2024 for aggravated robbery.

The suspects are; Phiona Among, 28, Isaac Angula, 27, Shafik Baluku, 26 and Bernard Galenda.

The accused on Tuesday appeared before Magistrate Igga Adiru who granted them a cash bail of Shillings 1 million and their sureties were bonded at Shillings 10 million non cash.

These officers were arrested for allegedly robbing USD 30,000 (approximately shs 114 million) from Muhammad Olad Abdirahman, a Kenyan businessman last week.

It is alleged that Among, Angula,  Baluku,  and Galenda and others still at large on January 7th 2024 at Royal View Hotel, Buziga Zone, Makindye Division in Kampala, robbed Muhammad Olad Abdirahman of cash worth USD 30,000 and immediately before or immediately after the said robbery used actual violence on the victim.

Court has now set February 20th 2024 for mention of the case.
