The Uganda Police Force have confirmed a total of six (6) Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) recovered and detonated in different parts of Kampala in a space of two days.

 

This comes after a bomb recovery outside the Miracle Center Church in Kayanja Zone, Rubaga division with one suspect identified as Abdul Rahman Kintu was arrested in connection to the explosive plantation.

 

Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson says that among the recovered six IEDs, three were discovered at Miracle Center Church yesterday, Mabiito Business hub in Nateete Rubaga division and at Peaceful Guest House Ngobe in Bunamwaya.

 

He says that the other three explosives were recovered from a two rented house on wed by the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Lungujja, Rubaga division where Abdu Rahman Kintu and other five suspects now on the run, had kept them waiting to plant them in three places.

 

He says Mabiito Business hub in Nateete which is next the the LC1 office is now sealed off by the Bomb squad and other security agencies conducting investigations and traders have been told to vacate the place so that the bomb is detonated.

 

In regards to the suspect arrested at Miracle Center Church, Enanga says Kintu who is a resident of Mbizzinnya village in Buwama Sub County in Mpigi district was on the wanted list of terrorists and was found in possession of a remote control for these explosives.
