Police have opened up a separate case file of attempted murder and indecent assault against people allegedly stripped and filmed the nakeness of suspected robbers along the Northern Bypass.

This follows last week’s arrest by police in Kiira Division of four suspects for attempted robbery including Benjamin  Seruyange Benjamin, a resident of Namungoona Lubaga Division, Kampala District, Everine Busingye, 30yrs Bar Attendant a resident of Kyambogo Nakawa Division in Kampala District.

Another suspect is Mercy Namyalo, a resident of Kibuye Makindye Division in Kampala District and Jonas  Kanyike, Hawker a resident of Namungoona Lubaga Division, Kampala District as they attempted to rob one Edward Himbisa last Wednesday.

The Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga says that police stations that cover the Namboole side have been directed to track and arrest all people who participated in the stripping and filming of the private parts of four robbery suspects, particularly the two women.

Although the incident happened on Wednesday, the videos of the crowd mostly forcing women to spread their legs as they filmed went viral on Friday and Saturday.

Two naked male suspects were dumped in a swamp while the crowd continuously beat and filmed two women.

Whenever the female suspects attempted resisting the order to expose their private parts, the crowd responded with canning.

According to Enanga, the police condemned this act of harassment of women which was mainly done by the Bodaboda Riders.

He added that the people who participated in the undressing, beating and filming are also needed to face charges of assault and grievous harm and the four robbery suspects will face the charges preferred to them.
