The Uganda Police Force is ready and committed at ensuring total security once unrest erupts from the neighboring Kenya Presidential elections slated tomorrow.

Kenyans are on Tuesday participating in their 5th Presidential elections that are tightly contested by the Deputy President William Ruto and the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga ahead of the official retirement of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga says that they don’t anticipate any possibilities of civil unrest from Kenya though the contingent plans are in place to counteract any abrupt unrest that could affect Ugandans at the borders.

He says that the government has also mitigated plans against any disruption of cargo transactions.

Meanwhile, security registered a total of 149 asylum seekers from the Democratic Republic of Congo –DRC at Nyakabande transit centre, totaling to over 17200 refugees in Uganda since May this year.
