The Police Directorate of Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) in Kibuli has detained four people believed to have executed robbery on February 8, 2021 along Jinja Road opposite Bank of Africa in Kampala. 

 

The suspects moved in 4 pairs of motorcycles well assured of their target Kannankutty Krisnamoham and Indian origin that had just checked out of the bank.

 

Charles Twine, the CID Spokesperson says that the suspects intentionally knocked him down and fled with his bag contained Euros 100,000 approximately Shs450m as their victim slid into a coma.

 

He says after the victim reported at the Central Police Station (CPS) Kampala, the CID managed to identify one of the suspects by the names of Samuel Ssetimba alias Simple who on interrogation confessed to have participated in the robbery with 3 others that were also later arrested by the names of Julius Mugisha, 35, a boda rider along the William Street in Kampala and a resident of Wakiso was arrested.

 

According to Twine, the suspects previously escaped from lawful bus that was transporting them to Kitalya prison in June 2020 and they had robbed a Somali businessman Shs200 million at Equatorial Mall in Kampala.
