Parliament is demanding for the arrest of minister Haruna Kasoro and Ssembabule District woman Mp Hanifa Kawoya who are alleged to have been seen distributing food contrary to the president directive of preventing the spread of Covid-19.
The matter has been raised by Mp’s during today’s plenary sitting and these included Lwemiyaga county Mp Therodore Ssekikubo, Kalungu East Mp Joseph Ssewungu, Bugabula county south Mp Henry Kibalya and others.
The Mps say that it’s unfair for government to arrest Mityana municipality Mp Francis Zaake on allegations of distributing food yet he was not.
Furthermore they have also expressed anger in the manner in which Zaake was arrested and brutally beaten.
In respond the speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga has ruled and directed Minister of internal Affair to by Thursday report to parliament the action taken against those who beat up Zaake.
Apparently Zaake was admitted at Rubaga Hospital and nursing wounds after being beaten by security operatives.
