The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa has directed the clerk to parliament Adolf Mwesige to organize a blood donation week to address the challenge of blood shortage in the country.

The Uganda blood transfusion services have been in the media appealing to all Ugandans to donate blood due to its shortage in the country.

In his communication to the plenary sitting, the deputy speaker of parliament Thomas Tayebwa rallied MPs to participate in the campaign to save Ugandans.

Meanwhile, Nwoya district woman MP Acan Judith Peace has noted the need for the Ministry of Health to first provide fridges that can keep blood country-wide to enable communities and hospitals to regularly engage in blood donation.
