Parliament has pledged support to all initiatives enabling the Busoga Kingdom to acquire back the properties of Kyabazinga-ship.

This was after the Busoga Kingdom Prime Minister Dr. Joseph Muvawala who had come to Parliament to pay tribute to the fallen Speaker Jacob Oulanyah, informed the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa that the kingdom is in the final stages of signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Government to allow for the return of the kingdom’s properties.

It’s from this that the Deputy Speaker Tayebwa pledged total support to the Kyabazinga of Busoga and also promised to follow-up on the pledge by the Government to pay 60 million shillings to every traditional leader towards their operations and sustainability.

Meanwhile, after paying tribute to Oulanyah, Muvawala in a press conference together with MPs from Busoga and the Deputy Speaker Tayebwa noted that as Busoga they too have lost a son who was among the few privileged people that the late Bishop Cyprian Kikuni Bamwoze adopted and named as sons of Busoga.

Oulanyah who died three weeks ago in Seattle, USA will tomorrow be laid in state at Parliament and will on Wednesday be taken to Kololo for public viewing and after be airlifted to his home district of Omoro where he will be buried on Friday.
