The Opposition in Parliament has demanded for the establishment of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry to investigate the Human Rights Violations by the state.

This is one of the demands fronted by the opposition to the  government for justice to prevail as the Leader of Opposition Mathias Mpuuga gave a rejoinder to the response on a report presented by government through the state minister for security General David Muhoozi last week on Wednesday on the floor of parliament.

Mpuuga says that the commission should be chaired by a judge of the High court with members of high integrity and sound mind appointed by the judicial service commission.

The opposition has also demanded for unconditional release of political prisoners, setup of a parliamentary select committee to investigate the matters in question, transfer of all non-military prisoners to civil courts for trial.

After the presentation the Speaker of Parliament Anita Among guided on how to debate on the rejoinder of the LOP Mpuuga.

Furthermore LoP Mpuuga was refused to play a video as evidence to show the human rights violations and tortures by state security but requested to table it before parliament and later be reviewed by the speaker who will determine whether to play it or not.
