Police have warned opposition party – National Unity Platform (NUP) – to adhere to the ministry of health guidelines in its planned manifesto launch.

The NUP presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi a.k.a Bobi Wine is expected to launch his manifesto on Novermber 07, 2020 at Kakyeka stadium not at Kakoba division at the NUP offices in Mbarara City as it had been earlier announced.

The area Police Commander Abas Byakagaba has today said that they would not standby to see NUP members “disregard the standard operating procedures aimed at controlling the spread of Covid-19.

He said that political campaigns and rallies remain banned in the country.

Bobi Wine had a run in with the police on Tuesday as he presented his nomination papers for the election.

Dozens of his supporters who had escorted him were arrested and other injured after police fired tear gas to disperse them.
