Luweero district NRM Executive Committee, suspends the district party’s Administrative Secretary Shafik Ntege, for allegedly misappropriating over 27 million shillings.

The funds in question were meant to facilitate 606 party flag bearers in the recently concluded village youth committee elections.

Each beneficiary was supposed to get 45,000 shillings.

Luweero district NRM chairman Ronald Ndawula says preliminary investigations into this show that Ntege received shs27,270,000  on August 16.

Ndawula explains since then, no beneficiary has bagged their share.

He says that because, Ntege has since failed to be clear on how the funds were put to use, they have been compelled to suspend him.

This whole development follows the storming of Luweero Diocese Guest House in protest by a group of party youths, to get an explanation from the executive members as they met there.

Efforts to speak to Ntege have since failed to yield, because his phone number is unavailable.

This after the Electoral Commission NRM Spokes person Emanuel Ddombo revealed theft of a hooping UGX 6 Billion that NRM party had allocated for the youth for their elections conducted on August 10th and 11th 2020 country wide at the village level.
