Seven aspirants who lost in the National Resistance Movement-NRM party primaries in Busia district are coming as independent candidates in next year’s general elections.

The candidates include Geoffrey Macho the incumbent Member of Parliament Busia Municipality, Gideon Onyango incumbent MP Samia Bugwe North constituency and Dorothy Akware.

Others are Grace Nyakecho former district councillor for Buteba sub-county and Esther Busingye Wafula who lost to Hellen Auma Wandera, Godfrey Were Odero and Patrick Onyango who both lost the flag to minister Julius Maganda in Samia Bugwe South constituency.

The losers note that the recently concluded elections were marred with voter bribery and manipulation of results.

Macho, says that the election was not transparent and credible due to infiltration of Kenyans and opposition party supporters who overwhelmingly voted for his opponent. Nyakecho, says that NRM district electoral committee has corrupt officials. She says that her hopes of winning as an independent candidate are high.

Already losers from Kyankwanzi and Luweero have announced their candidature in the election.
