The New Public Service Commission Appointees have vowed to Review Salaries of Public Servants and also put up mechanisms of fighting corruption.

Parliament on Friday kick started the vetting of the recently nominated members of the Public Service Commission led by Winnie Kabogoza who promised to focus on the review of salaries and employment terms of all public servants in order to curb the rampant industrial actions of government workers.

This week, President Yoweri Museveni appointed Winnie Aganes Kaboggoza as the new chairperson of the Public Service Commission replacing Justice Ralph William Ochan.

Speaking to journalists after her vetting at Parliament, Kabogoza said that if her appointment is approved by Parliament, she will focus on strengthening the values of public service as a whole and strive to improve the terms and conditions of the public servants.

Kabogoza’s response was in relation to the question about the ongoing industrial action within public service with the latest being arts teachers who have since last week laid down tools in protest of the discriminative salary enhancement of science teachers, leaving them out.

Meanwhile one of the commission members Titus Kisambira has promised to fight corruption in the commission especially where those seeking jobs pay money to either appear on shortlists or win jobs.

It’s from here that he appealed to the all staff and commission members to desist from interfacing with candidates seeking for jobs.
