The criminal Division of high court has adjourned the trial of a senior accountant Francis Onebe, 63, who is accused of murdering his wife and dumped her body in a septic tank at their home in Muyenga.
Onabe who is being tried alongside his security guard, Bonny Oriekot for murdering his wife Immaculate Mary Blessing Aiso in 2021, his hearing has not proceeded because of the absence of the trial judge Michael Elubu who is on official duties.
Onebe’s legal team led by Patrick Kasamba appeared before the Court Clerk Evelyne who scheduled them to reappear in court on 1st August 2023.
The prosecution states that the duo and others still at large in January 2021, at Mawanga Zone LC1 in Munyonyo, Makindye Division in Kampala district, murdered Aiso and her decomposing body was recovered in a septic tank at their residence at Munyonyo in the Kampala District after Onebe reported the disappearance of his wife on 6th January 2021, and had alleged that she had been abducted by security operatives due to her political beliefs and belonging to the National Unity Platform Party.
