Buganda Road Magistrates James Eremye Mawanda has released two men that had been accused of participating in Electronic fraud.

The two former telecom company employees, Nasser Kigenyi and Henry Magombe are said to have conned a number of people using mobile phone numbers belonging to various people, including Ministers and Members of Parliament.

The phone numbers used in the scam by the suspects belonged to Lands Minister Persis Namuganza, Agriculture Minister Christopher Kyebazanga, Youth MP Mwine Mpaka and one Mercy Kyankunda.

The two have been ordered to pay 2 million shillings in cash with their 7 sureties paying 10 million shillings each to ensure that they return to court for trial.

Court has fixed the April 17th 2017 as the date on which this case will commence.

Meanwhile, the Defence lawyers led by Abdallah Kiwanuka embraced the court’s decision saying that there cases were bailable.
