The Kasambya county Mp Patrick Mulindwa has promised to support the proposal suggesting that the president be elected by parliament under the college election system.

This is after rumors circulating in the public that the Constitution review commission is to start country wide consultations on whether the president should be voted by parliament or not.

Constitutionally if Uganda is to amend the Presidential Act and Electoral Commission Act to allow the president be elected by Parliament, this means there must be a referendum subjected to all Ugandans to vote on the matter.

Speaking to Mulindwa said that with this system of voting a president will help to settle all accusations opposition has been mounting against NRM presidential candidate Yoweri Museveni that he has been rigging elections.
