Dr. Diana Atwine, the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Health has banned capacity building workshops from being held in hotels.

She says that such workshops are meant to be conducted in health facilities where their clients are situated instead of having them in hotels.

Dr. Atwine says that they are resorting to control expenditures within the ministry and this is one of the routes of encountering this.

Dr. Atwine said this while launching 10 days of activism against Preeclampsia at Kawempe National Referral Hospital today morning.

Preeclampsia is a type of high blood pressure that some people get during pregnancy.

This condition can happen after the 20th week of pregnancy.

It manifests with high blood pressure, high levels of protein in urine that indicate kidney damage (proteinuria), or other signs of organ damage.

If it’s Left untreated preeclampsia can lead to serious, even fatal complications for both the mother and baby.
